SLIDE SCANNING WORLD

Sponsored by Saturn Films (1969)

A warm welcome to our website where we promote the transfer of slides, photographs and negatives to a digital format and saved on disc for sharing with your family and friends.

The efficient way to scan your slide and negative collection is to use a commercial scanning company. In the UK and Europe there are many companies providing this service, Saturn Films (1969) is an example of a British company, based in South Wales, by searching the net you will find many others.

An excellent reference is Scan Guru - http://scanguru.info/en/find-a-scanning-service/. Here you will find companies listed both in the UK and from throughout the World. Another excellent site reviewing scanning impartially is: http://www.andromeda.com photo slide-transfer  well worth a visit.

The costs of the scanning vary widely from company to company. The quality of the scanning may be a factor in determining the price and you need to look at the dpi  - dots per inch - the file format e.g. Jpeg, RAW or TIFF, the disc used CD, DVD Blu-ray, and the final presentation. Make sure the company you choose is using excellent quality equipment, after all you too are making an investment.

We recommend using a company that offers a trial service so that you are able to judge the quality of the product before you commit to outlaying a large amount of money, Saturn Films (1969) provide such a service, scanning up to six of your images for £6.00. They send you a demonstration disc with your slide or negative images and they are always pleased to discuss projects with customers.
